When Mahaprabhuji Vallabhacharyaji established Pushtimarg, he had two sons — Gopinathji and Vitthalanathji (Gusainji). Gusainji had seven sons. And to each of his seven sons, Gusainji entrusted the care of one sacred form of the Lord — one Swaroop. These seven Swaroops are the seven presiding forms of Shreenathji across Pushtimarg. Together they are called the Sapta Svarupas — the Seven Sacred Forms. 🌿

Why Seven Forms? How Gusainji established the seven Gaddis
Gusainji Vitthalanathji — Mahaprabhuji's second son — was the great organiser of Pushtimarg. He established the Ashtachhap poets, expanded the Haveli seva tradition, and built the devotional structure that the entire tradition still follows today. He had seven sons, and he entrusted each son with the seva of one sacred Swaroop of the Lord. Each Swaroop went to a different location. Each son established a Gaddi — a hereditary seat of authority — that has continued in that family's lineage ever since. 🙏
Why seven different forms? Because the Lord is infinite — no single form can capture every dimension of who He is. The seven Swaroops together reveal the complete range of Krishna's personality: Shreenathji is the Purna Purushottama; Navnit Priyaji is the butter-loving child; Mathuradhishji is the sovereign king; Vitthaleshji embodies the devotional tradition; Dwarkadhishji is the divine protector; Gokulnathji holds the Varta tradition; and Madanamohananji is the enchanting beauty of divine love.
